The Ovarian Cancer Walk 2016
Join us on Sunday 9 October 2016 at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London or join us on Sunday 16 October at the royal Holyrood Park, Edinburgh.
It doesn't matter how you take part - walk or run, 5k or 10k - it only matters that you join us, raise money, and help us achieve our goal of a long and good life for every woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the UK. Registration is £15, and the fundraising target is £100 per person. Women, men, children and dogs are welcome!
Both walks will start at 11am and finish at around 3pm, however you are more than welcome to stay in the parks for as long as you would like. Both locations are based really near the city centres so there will be plenty to do after the walk if you wish to have a day out in the city. We will also be holding our Footprints stand again where you can write a note in support of a loved one, an inspirational message or your reason for taking part in The Ovarian Cancer Walk. We will then pin these on to our Footprints Wall - you will be able to take yours home with you at the end of the day and keep it as a memory of your fantastic achievement.
To see what The Ovarian Cancer Walk was like last year, please take a look at our Callendar Park, Scotland photo gallery and our Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park photo gallery - you can also watch our video below.
We are looking for companies to be our official The Ovarian Cancer Walk sponsors this year. If you or your company would like to be part of The Ovarian Cancer Walk, where hundreds of people will be coming together to walk to raise awareness and funds to beat this devastating disease let us know. Email us to request a copy of our corporate proposal and help us improve early diagnosis and give support to women across the UK.
If you don't think you can take part in the walk and fundraise for us - that is absolutely fine. We would still love for you to be part of making The Ovarian Cancer Walk happen and your support can help us reach women with ovarian cancer and their families across the UK. We have volunteering opportunities before the day of the event with marketing the walk, this involves distributing postcards and flyers, popping into your local supermarkets and community centres and spreading the word about The Ovarian Cancer Walk. We also needs lots of help and the day and would really appreciate your time assisting us to marshal the course, welcome walkers and runners, setting up the event in the morning and registering participants as they arrive. If you think you could help us please register as a volunteer and we will be in touch shortly to give you more details and find our your volunteering preferences.
