Four people walking along river

Our online community

Find support, strength and community from people who understand what you’re going through.

Our two private Facebook groups are welcoming and helpful places to connect and chat with other people – you can interact as much or as little as you want:

The Ovarian Cancer Community

Our Ovarian Cancer Community group is a kind, supportive group for everyone affected by ovarian cancer, including friends and family. You'll find support every step of the way.

Watch the video below to learn more about the Ovarian Cancer Community from our members – as always, they say it best.

In Touch

Our In Touch group is a safe and supportive space only for those with an ovarian cancer diagnosis. This is a private community where you can talk honestly and openly about how you are feeling - and find comfort and understanding from others living with and beyond ovarian cancer.

I felt so lonely before. Everyone meant well but they didn’t know how I felt. Now I have a network of people going through the same thing – it’s such a relief.

Common questions about our online community

How do I join?

To join, all you need to do is answer our two entry questions and agree to the group rules before your membership will be approved. We have these entry questions and rules in place to make sure that the groups remain a safe and supportive place for everyone affected by ovarian cancer.

Who can see these groups?

These groups are classified as a 'private' Facebook group, which means other people affected by ovarian cancer can search for the group, making it easier for them to find and join. However, being a member of the group won't show up on your personal Facebook profile, as only members can see who other members are.

Who can see what I post?

Only other members of these groups, including a few members of Target Ovarian Cancer staff, will be able to see your posts and conversations.

You should not post personal contact information in the group. If you'd like to share your details with another member of the group, please use Facebook Messenger to send them a private message.

What can I speak about?

Our community chats about all things ovarian cancer. From side effects to complementary therapies, maintenance treatment or even travel insurance - join and read about the topics that interest you most, or introduce yourself with a post or comment, to share and connect with others that understand.

How can I help spread the word?

We want the Ovarian Cancer Community to continue to grow so that we can support as many people affected by ovarian cancer as possible. We’ve created a flyer to let everyone know about the community and we would love your help to share it far and wide!

You can download the flyer and share it with anyone you think would benefit from knowing about the group. Perhaps you could invite your family and friends or your local support group. Or why not tell your GP surgery or your Clinical Nurse Specialist so they can spread the word too?

How does Target Ovarian Cancer keep the groups safe?

All new members have to agree to our group rules before joining our online community. These rules are in place to make sure that the groups remain a safe and supportive place for everyone affected by ovarian cancer.

Both groups are run by a team of Admins and Moderators from Target Ovarian Cancer. The team approve and keep an eye on posts and comments.

Members can also report posts and comments to the group Admins if they are concerned that something goes against the group rules.

What if I still have more questions?

If you have any other questions about joining, please get in touch - we'd be very happy to help.

Ask a Moderator by sending an email to [email protected].
