As Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month is drawing to a close we want to say thank you to everyone who got involved to Start Making Noise.
This year has been the loudest yet! Here are just some of the highlights:
Our Ambassador Sarah Greene joined Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the sofa for ITV's This Morning. You can catch up on her fantastic interview on YouTube.
We've appeared in media across the country! From the BBC, the Sun, Grazia, Hello, Good Housekeeping, Woman’s Own, Healthista, NetDoctor, Standard Issue and many, many more, alongside women, family and friends sharing their stories in hundreds of local papers. Altogether this month we’ve reached 20 million people across the UK!
Because of all of your hard work we've managed to reach almost half a million people on social media with #StartMakingNoise and our symptoms information.
You have organised over 280 awareness events and together, we’ve distributed around 40,000 symptoms leaflets this month, meaning even more people now have that essential knowledge.
Hundreds of you took up the challenge to shout loud this March. Whether you chose to bake some noise, host a charity night or don your most outlandish outfits at work, in hospitals, in schools and in the community for The Big Colour Clash. You can see some of our favourite photos you sent in in our gallery.
There wouldn't be an Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month without the incredible women who generously share their stories to help raise awareness. So thank you Alison, Emily, Carol, Nicoli, Ingrid, Fiona, Ann and Amanda who shared their stories on the website.
We've achieved a lot this month but there is still much more to do. We need to keep on making noise so that every woman can be diagnosed at the earliest possible stage, and we need to keep on raising money to improve early diagnosis, find new treatments and support women.
So please, keep sharing your stories and the symptoms. Don’t forget to send in your photos and pay in any money you’ve raised during the month.
And from all of us, a heartfelt “thank you”!
