How can I make my very sparse eyebrows look full and normal again? Since my hair has grown back, my eyebrows seem to be very sparse. Unfortunately I am rubbish with an eyebrow pencil, I look like a mad goth!
I’m afraid my advice is pencil but you just need to master it, which is easy – I promise. You aren’t rubbish at them, you just haven’t been taught the right way.
Before my brows fell out I used to fill my natural ones in with a coloured brow gel from Mac or Benefit. It would add some definition and hold them all in place. It’s easier to use than a pencil. But if your brows are sparse, you’ll need some extra help.
There is a trick to foolproof brow pencilling: get one with a brush on the end.
When you draw in your brows, follow the direction of growth and mimic the hairs, drawing in little flicks (as if you’re drawing in individual hairs). The pencil will come out dark and slightly scary, but carry on. You then brush through to blend the lines, remove excess product and soften the colour. You’ll be amazed at how natural it looks.
If you’re still unsure, use a lighter shade than you’d think natural. Even blonde tones can look great on brunette brows for a subtle effect. I love Dior, Lancôme and Benefit for amazing pencil/brush combos.
