I have been on HRT Evorel 100 and Utrogen 100 for two years - I am 57 yrs old. I now have intermittent bleeding - some fresh, some brown. Is this a symptom of ovarian cancer?

I have intermittent bleeding. Is this a symptom of ovarian cancer?

Response by Dr Vicki Barber, GP

I urge you to go and see your GP within the next few days. It could be as simple as that your HRT needs to be changed, but bleeding can also be a sign of ovarian or endometrial cancer so it is important that you get this checked out.

You are likely to need a CA125, a pelvic ultrasound and an endometrial pipelle and or an endometrial biopsy at a hysteroscopy. Please tell your GP that you are worried about cancer and you can mention that you have been in touch with us.
