Frequently asked questions

How do I sign up?

When registration is open, you'll be able to register online using the links provided. There will also be the option of signing up using a paper form or over the phone.

Can I enter on the day?

We prefer advanced registrations so that we know how many people will be joining us but you can register on the day. We recommend arriving no later than 10.15am if you'd like to do this. The cost for registering on the day is £30 for adults and £12.50 for children over five.

What is the closing date for online entry?

To receive your pack in the post, please register at least two weeks before the event date, otherwise you would need to collect this on the day. We will accept online entries up to noon on the Friday before the event takes place.

Can children take part on their own?

Anyone under the age of 18 needs to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is responsible for them on the day.

When will I receive my pack and t-shirt?

Your pack including your event number and timing chip (currently London only), t-shirt and route map will be sent to you around a week before the event. If you sign up within a week of the event day you’ll be able to collect this on the day.

Why is there a minimum sponsorship amount?

The Ovarian Cancer Walk|Run is our largest fundraising event and as well as raising awareness, it is responsible for raising a substantial amount of the income Target Ovarian Cancer needs to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research, and provide much-needed support for women with ovarian cancer. We do not receive any government funding and rely on voluntary donations and sponsorship raised from events to continue our work. We must do much more than just cover the cost of the event and we rely on all of our participants to raise the minimum pledge as well as those who exceed it.

If you’d like some tips on how to raise £100, you can find some here. Or contact our friendly team who can help.

Do children need to raise the minimum sponsorship amount?

Children are not required to raise the minimum sponsorship amount but we encourage them to raise as much as they can.

How do I set up my JustGiving page?

You will have the option of setting up a JustGiving page as part of the online registration process. You can also follow the instructions here.

Can I use sponsorship forms instead of a JustGiving page?

Yes. JustGiving is the easiest and most efficient way to collect your sponsorship money and for us to receive it, but if you’d prefer to use a paper form you can download one here. Contact us using the details at the bottom of the page if you’d like us to send you some in the post.

I have raised money offline, how do I send it to you?

If you’ve raised sponsorship offline you could send it to us:

  • Online: Click here to make your payment.
  • By post: Please send a cheque made payable to ‘Target Ovarian Cancer’ to Target Ovarian Cancer, 2 Angel Gate, City Road, London EC1V 2PT. Please write your name and ‘The Ovarian Cancer Walk/Run’ at the back of each cheque.
  • By phone: We can take credit and debit card payment over the phone. Call us on 020 7923 5474 to make your donation.
Is there a deadline for sending in sponsorship?

We ask that all sponsorship is paid in by the end of December as we send the certificates out in January.

Are the routes accessible? Can I take part in a wheelchair?

All our events have fully accessible routes suitable for wheelchairs.

Are there any toilets on the route?

There are a number of toilets available on the route at the London event.

There are toilets at the start and finish area in Edinburgh, but currently none along the route.
