When there are things that are making you anxious, or if you are worried about someone you care for, sometimes it can be difficult to feel relaxed.

You might feel that you don't have enough time to spend on relaxation, or perhaps you feel overwhelmed by what is happening to you or the things going on around you. In these circumstances it can be even more important to be kind to yourself. Listening to relaxation recordings can be an effective tool to help you feel relaxed and reduce feelings of stress.

The following relaxation exercises are narrated by Dr Amanda-Jane Wood, a Chartered Psychologist who ran the deep relaxation workshops at our Being Together day in Middlesbrough.


Listening to these, when you are comfortable at home, could help you take some time for yourself, and achieve a feeling of calm relaxation.
