On Thursday 26th and Friday 27th November, Dublin Castle welcomed through its doors eminent experts from the gynaecological cancer community for the British Gynaecological Cancer Society’s (BGCS) annual scientific meeting.

Highlights from this year’s meeting included a thought provoking talk on ‘The Psychosexual Impact on Women with Gynaecological Cancer’ presented by Dr Niccolo Giovannin; and updates from the UKCTOCS and UKFOCSS ovarian cancer screening trials from Professor Jacobs and Dr Rosenthal.

Target Ovarian Cancer was proud to be a sponsor of the event and was pleased to receive a high level of interest in its exhibition stand from professionals including surgeons, nurses, oncologist and researchers. Our Health Awareness Coordinator, Dr Sharon Tate was invited to exhibit a research poster alongside updates from other researchers. The poster highlighted the first findings from the Target Ovarian Cancer Pathfinder Study.

Annwen Jones, Chief Executive of Target Ovarian Cancer said: "The BGCS annual meeting is a key date in the gynaecological cancer calendar. Attending this event is a real opportunity for us to build new professional relationships and reinforce existing ones. Working in partnership is essential if we are to make real progress in improving quality of life and survival for women with ovarian cancer".
