Target Ovarian Cancer undertakes research on key issues in relation to ovarian cancer and regularly presents our findings at conferences in the form of posters.

The role of Clinical Nurse Specialists in delivering high-quality care for women with ovarian cancer 

CNS Poster Target Ovarian Cancer conducted in-depth research with eight Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) to understand the barriers which prevent CNSs from delivering high-quality care and how Target Ovarian Cancer can provide support to address these.

Ovarian cancer pathways in practice. 

Image of pathways poster Target Ovarian Cancer conducted a series of in-depth interviews with GPs to provide a more comprehensive examination of local diagnostic pathways. The research found that there can be variation in how diagnostic guidelines are implemented, that GPs confidence in spotting symptoms is tempered by a reality where cases rarely present as clear cut and that GPs value support from secondary care.

Regional variation in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer in England.

Image of regional variation in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer In 2017 Target Ovarian Cancer’s GP Advisory Board carried out research looking at regional variation in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer across England. The research looked at three key indicators: diagnostic tests, stage at diagnosis and one-year survival rates.

Awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer among women in the general population. 

ovarian cancer symptoms awareness poster Target Ovarian Cancer used the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Measure as part of our Pathfinder study in 2009,2012 and 2016. This poster looks at the awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer among women in the general population between 2009-16.
