Mark Durkan MP, Vice Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Ovarian Cancer, has tabled an Early Day Motion (EDM) to mark Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 2017. An EDM is a form of parliamentary petition that MPs can sign to show their support for an issue and so far over 20 MPs have signed EDM 995: Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
The EDM sets out the symptoms of ovarian cancer, recognises the work of Target Ovarian Cancer and other charities in raising awareness and calls for further government action.
You can get involved by writing to your MP today to ask them to sign.
Target Ovarian Cancer Director of Public Affairs and Services, Rebecca Rennison, said “It is great to see MPs getting involved in this year’s Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. We all need to work together to raise awareness and that includes MPs. This EDM will help make more MPs aware of the symptoms of ovarian cancer as well as the need to raise awareness.”
