Accomplished corporate leader Katie Wadey has become Target Ovarian Cancer’s new chair and start-up founder Alex Fisher has been appointed a trustee, as we say a heartfelt thank you to outgoing chair Sonya Branch.
This leadership transition brings fresh experience and perspectives to our board, while providing an important opportunity to recognise Sonya Branch’s exceptional contribution to the charity over the past 15 years.
Welcoming Katie Wadey
Katie steps into the role of Target Ovarian Cancer’s Chair of Trustees with a wealth of experience from senior leadership and board roles across a range of sectors.
Katie, who was most recently Chief Product and Commercial Officer at financial services firm Wesleyan, brings more than 20 years’ experience in customer and commercial-focused roles.
Katie was previously Product and Commercial Officer at Simplyhealth and has held senior positions at a range of blue-chip organisations, including BT, Tesco, British Gas and Aviva.
Katie has also been a trustee of Transform Housing and Support since 2019, currently sits on the Board of Golden Charter Ltd, and was previously a Non-executive Director of Capital & Regional Plc (until its acquisition by New River).
What stands out most is what Katie cares about - anchoring an organisation to what really matters, while understanding the people it serves. That is the heart of everything we do at Target Ovarian Cancer. We’re excited about what her fresh perspective and commercial insight will offer as we continue to grow our impact for women with ovarian cancer.
I’m honoured to join Target Ovarian Cancer as Chair. The charity has made a real difference to women with ovarian cancer and I’m passionate about helping organisations stay anchored to what really matters and to the people they serve. I look forward to working with Catherine Hart, the team and my fellow trustees as we continue to grow our impact.”
Thank you Sonya
For 15 years, Sonya has been a steadfast champion for Target Ovarian Cancer and for everyone affected by this disease. Her commitment, wisdom and care have helped shape the charity Target Ovarian Cancer is today, and we are enormously grateful.
Alex Fisher joins as Trustee
We’re also pleased to welcome Alex Fisher to the Board. Alex is co-founder of AOA Dx and co-owns and runs Advanced Global Health, two businesses set up to transform women’s health.
