Celebrating a decade of In Touch!

This year our In Touch group turned 10 years old. Together, we've built a kind, supportive group for those living with ovarian cancer, across the UK.

Our In Touch group is a safe and supportive space created only for those with an ovarian cancer diagnosis. It's a private community where members can talk openly about how they're feeling and find comfort and understanding from others.

However, being a member of the group won't show up on your personal Facebook profile, as only members can see who other members are. Only other members of the group, including a few members of Target Ovarian Cancer staff, will be able to see your posts and conversations.

All new members have to agree to the group rules before joining to ensure that the group remains a safe and supportive place for everyone.

In Touch was started to help women stay connected to us as a charity, and importantly each other – outside of our support events. We know how valuable that feeling of community can be for people living with a diagnosis and we’re proud that 10 years on In Touch is still bringing people together for a shared experience of comfort and understanding. Thank you to everyone that has joined and supported In Touch over the years.

Soraya Lynch, Support Events and Community Manager

Although the group isn't a substitute for medical advice, it's a great place to share experiences, exchange tips, and find support from others that understand.

The Target Ovarian Cancer team, along with our fabulous Digital Champions (volunteers who help moderate and grow our online community) help ensure that any members that are seeking medical advice are signposted to our nurse-led support line or to their medical team.

I'd say to anyone thinking about or unsure about joining the online community...give it a go! We're all different in our needs and it won’t be for everyone. You can just read the messages and gain information; you don’t have to join in or respond. You can be anonymous if you want or jump right in! It feels amazing to be understood, listened to, supported, and most of all be with a group of ladies all fighting to live our new version of our best lives.
